This simple vintage style dress is modelled after an old French linen nightgown I purchased in a country market in France. We have shortened the line to turn it into a flattering day dress but kept all the traditional features from the gussets under the arms to allow movement, extra flow of fabric in the sleeves, a delicate gather around the neckline, finished by a 3-button front placket and half sleeves. An elegant fan favourite from our Made by Hand collection with the Lady in the Fence block printed on the bottom hem border. We have reinvented this dress for the current collection with our playful summer Hot Air Balloon block print in indigo, all on a light hand-spun, hand-loomed khadi to give it a crisp finish. It has a tie belt for more definition but our tip is to add a chunky leather belt for a more textured and edgy look.

Each Anjelms piece is signed by the craftsperson of The Stitching Project who was involved in its making. All our plant dyes are G.O.T.S. certified and hand-dyed on the grounds of The Stitching Project gardens. All wastewater is reused for gardening purposes to reduce wastage and damaging effect on our environment.
